We didn't fly this weekend, but it turned out pretty good anyway. On Saturday, we enjoyed a great lunch at the Boone airport to celebrate Keith and Bob's birthdays. From there, it was time to work in the hangar (where there's ALWAYS something that needs done), and we finished off the night having dinner with some friends from the Morningstar airport. As for Sunday? Brian worked hard in the hangar, and I did some odds 'n ends back at the house. Even with no flying, it was a good and productive weekend. But, before we knew it, our Monday morning alarm was going off, and it was time to head back to the office. What did you do this weekend?
It looks like the weather's going to be perfect for the Boone chili feed on Saturday (Nov. 21). It's 11am - 2pm, and the more the merrier. The fly-in was organized to celebrate Keith and Bob's birthdays. Hope to see you there!
It was another gorgeous weekend (70 degrees in an Iowa November? Unbelievable!), so we hopped in the Texan and skimmed the countryside before the football game TFR covered the airport (I hate that TFR). Now I'm off to work in Sioux Falls, and Brian is checking out Craig Sommerfeld's new T-34 (which is a "10" hands-down). Once I snag a picture, I'll post it for you to see as well. It's guaranteed to make you drool.
Brian came across a photo of our Texan (3265G) from 1992 before it was restored to its original clothes. Below is the Aerotrader ad Brian also found when the plane was being sold to the guy we eventually bought the bird from. Have you discovered anything interesting about your plane(s) online?
66 tucked in Stearman row at Blakesburg
Yay! The airport is open again, we gained an extra hour with the end of Daylight Savings Time, and this weekend was gorgeous. Can you believe we didn't fly once this weekend? Our good friends Dan and Diane (who have Navy Stearman 66) stopped by and offered to help us install installation in the hangar... and we're never going to turn down that kind of help! After a productive day and late night (don't worry, we didn't work that much), we decided to enjoy a lazy Sunday afternoon. We had a great weekend, and we hope you did, too.
